The Shocking Truth

Hello blog friends! It's Patty here with my latest layout for the
CSI Design team.  Speaking of the design team, did you know that there is a design team call currently? It is a great opportunity for people who have participated in our challenges!

We have a lot of wonderful prizes over at CSI. Challenge winners will receive very nice gifts, so be sure to check it out
here.

This layout is my second entry for the Blue Fern Studios March challenge. Fingers crossed! There are more than 30 participants this month.

Didn't CSI come up with a stunning color palette here? They always have great color schemes, but this one is stunning!

I can't say enough good things about the embossing powder by Blue Fern Studio. All you need to do is apply the chipboard with Ranger Perfect Medium, then sprinkle the powder on top and heat emboss. This powder heats quickly and more than one surface texture can be achieved, giving more variety. I love to use more than one color per piece, and this company is adding more new colors all the time.

Techniques for this layout include embossing, painting, paper folding, stamping, fussy cutting and stencil work. In the photo below, you can see where I used BFS paper, scored and  folded it, then cut strips. Next, I spritzed it with paint and last, I used a dark brown ink pad to make specific areas a little darker to better match the color scheme for Case File 196.

It is that time of year when pranksters seem to be most active with their scheming and conniving for April Fools Day! I decided to scrapbook a layout about something funny my daughter did a few years ago. I thought the photo was hilarious and have been wanting to feature this in a layout since she first shared it with me. The journaling reads, "Honey, what a funny photo of a prank you played on your friends at their party! With your hair wild and fluffy after a day of swimming in their pool, you were quite a sight to behold, coming out of the dryer! They must have laughed out loud when they saw you!"

Thank you to all who view here. See you next time!

Darling

Happy Spring to all of my friends and family! Here is my latest layout for the CSI design team. It is of a photo taken when our children were small; the journaling is about my husband. I am entering this in the Blue Fern Studio March challenge. Fingers crossed...there are a lot of participants.

It seems that it has been forever since I posted my scrapbooking work, but there is a reason.  Spring has sprung and I have been very busy with   my second favorite hobby....gardening. Everywhere you can see little splashes of green and we also have a few plants blooming already!

Here is the view from one of my garden benches. I feel very relaxed when I sit there with the soft shades of late afternoon, long shadows and warm breezes. My chimes play beautiful melodies to give a complete package of delight for the senses!
Here is a new plant in my garden this spring:                               Camellia japonica!

Here is our family portrait taken on Easter Sunday. Now, back to my favorite hobby....
At CSI we are enjoying some spring colors and wonderful journaling prompts. You should come and play along with us. You won't be sorry! We have quite a few prizes for challenge winners. Follow the link above to see what it is all about. We would love to have you join in all the fun!
