Adorable

Happy Friday, everyone! This is my take on Case File 200 at CSI, and I couldn't have enjoyed it more!

Years ago, when I was a young mom, I wished, from time to time, that we could save a few of the days when our children were young to enjoy them years later in real life.   What a treat that would be! Well, that's not exactly how things work out, but many of those precious memories came flooding back as I worked on this challenge. Lee was four in this photo and he was a lot of energy bundled up in one little toddler, but I wouldn't have had it any other way!

This layout is entered in the Blue Fern Studio May Challenge. I love the romantic look of all of their papers.

The color scheme for this challenge begs for a picture and a story about a little boy, don't you think? I love the boldness of the primary colors. They make a statement just as a whirling dervish in kindergarten would, which reminds me that I am dedicating this layout to Mrs. Wanda Basham, Lee's K-4 teacher at Oakridge. She was a real blessing in Lee's life and a very patient teacher!

Techniques used on this layout were stamping, heat embossing, layering, texturizing, painting paper tearing, and 3-D work.

I love the Blue Fern Studios Imagine Ink Embossing powders! They heat quickly and make a lovely embossed chipboard piece. I recommend using Ranger Perfect Medium first. Using a small piece of a Ranger Foam Stamp Pad, dab a little Perfect Medium onto the chipboard, then sprinkle with the Imagine Ink powder and heat. So easy and quick!

For the journaling I chose to do an acrosstic:

                               "Adorable
                                 Daredevil
                                 Original
                                 Rascal
                                 Affectionate
                                 Bright
                                 Lots of laughs
                                 Energetic"
Thanks for taking a peek! Until next time....Patty

  3. Hi Patty! Thought I'd hop over from scrapbook.com and introduce myself (I'm Carrie from Dearzae.com :) and see all the up close shots of this page because I just love it. Great work! The main photo of the whole layout doesn't do it justice when you see all the little details...so cool.
