Special

Sharing my latest creation for CSI today.  I thought it would be cute to juxtapose a photo of my daughter Liz, carrying a football with a lovely feminine layout.

Be sure to stop by CSI and see what all the fuss is about....it is my favorite scrappy place other than my scrapbook room! Our sponsors this month are: SistersArt Creation, SODAlicious and Vilda StampsOur permanent sponsors are Flying Unicorn and Scrapbook Fantasies.  Check out the prizes this month! Who would not want these to add to their stash?

I found the butterfly on Pinterest, printed it out in different sizes to satisfy my need for perspective. Then, I fussy cut it, added a little sparkle and two stamen for artificial flowers.

The tag is tucked behind the layout and can be taken out to read. It says, "What a special lady you are, Elizabeth! You have a knack for making friends with everyone. As we say in the Rogers family, you have "never met a stranger." Enjoying life with your friends is what you do for fun and you do that whole heartedly. One of the things I admire about you most is that you hang on to your friends forever. "Make new friends and keep the old. One is silver and the other gold." The lyrics to that much loved Girl Scout song should be your theme song, special lady!

Captured?

Here is my latest layout for the Color Stories Inspiration Design Team. The colors in my photography are a little off due to a lot of bad weather and gloomy skies earlier this week. Under the Ott Light, it seems to be a perfect match! Oh well, it was fun to work on this lovely challenge, regardless of the weather and lighting.

This month at CSI we have four companies who are our sponsors. SistersArt Creation is owned by our very own Merry Braehler, and her sister. Merry does beautiful work for the design team and participates in every challenge even though she is a busy mother (of a precious toddler), a wife and Christian. Also this month, we are being sponsored by SODAlicious. They specialize in stationery, scrapbooking supplies and art journals. CSI is also happy to have Vilda Stamps as a sponsor this month. And last, but never least is our permanent sponsor, The Flying Unicorn. All of our sponsors will be donating supplies this month, so come play along at Color Stories Inspiration!

Over at CSI we have one challenge per month that supplies us with a sketch by Em Straface. It can be interpreted however we wish. As with this layout, I usually follow it closely.

As I was searching through my photos for pictures that would complement the challenge colors, I came across these that I took last summer while on our second trip to Yellowstone National Park, primarily in the state of Wyoming. The park's 3,468.4 square miles (8,983km) also spills over into the neighboring states of Montana and Idaho. Yellowstone is filled with abundant wildlife and geothermal activity and is magnificent to take in.

Techniques used on this layout are: inking, stitching, 3-D work, punching, embossing and die cutting.

Products used:
Authentique paper
Bazzil Basics paper
Maya Road twine
Petaloo flowers
Ranger/ Tim Holtz key and die
From my stash:
metal heart, tab, wooden pieces, map, die cut,        cheese cloth

Thanks for your comments!
