Hugs

Happy Friday, scrappy friends! Today, I'm sharing my latest layout for the CSI Design Team. At CSI today, we are introducing a lovely new challenge. The colors play off of each other beautifully, and how perfect they are for a late spring or early summer design.  

In our challenges, all you have to do is meet all three of the criteria: Scheme, Evidence and Testimony. So, round up your papers, embellies, paints, or whatever in the five colors of the challenge. For "The Scheme", each color must be used in your layout. Three or more items from the list of "Evidence" must be included in your layout. The third criteria is to choose one prompt from the "Testimony" list. CSI is where I have learned to appreciate the importance of journaling. Have you ever picked up an old picture from your family, looked on the back of it and been disappointed to learn there is no story or comment? Don't you wish you could read many of the stories and thoughts of your ancestors? What a treasure we give to our descendants by saving the pictures and the journaling. 

I am entering this layout in the May Challenge at Blue Fern Studio Blog. Their products are amazing! The papers are lovely and can be used in a variety of styles: formal, casual, romantic, masculine, feminine, youth, babies, vintage and shabby chic. You can see the heat embossing I did using the Imagine Ink Embossing Powder, a chipboard frame and title. If the powder is not overheated, it gives a lovely texture. 

Here, you can see some of the texture work in the background, as well as 3-D work and painting around the edges of the layered papers. 

How lovely this little branch with birds is right outside this window. 

Behind the window I placed a bit of a transparancey that I colored with Ranger Adirondack Alcohol Ink and a blending tool.
