Love This

Hello friends! I have a very special layout for you today that I created for the CSI Design Team. The reason it is special is because it is about a bond between granddaughter and grandmother. This relationship has brought both of these women a lot of happiness.

Here is how I solved Case File 226:

Scheme: All five colors used
Evidence: string, bows, bugs, hearts, plants
Testimony: Write about what makes you happy

I adored this little fan from Montage Calling Cards by Blue Fern Studios. The words at the top of the fan say it all, "Love crown your Way".

As always, there has to be texture in my layouts!

Dimension is also a must!

Doesn't the use of cheese cloth add feathery softness? I always add a few paint spatters, too.

The journaling reads, "Spending time with Grandmother has always made Elizabeth happy. Grandmother always had fun things to do while visiting her. She had a closet filled with toys, books and games for indoor play. For outdoor play, there were bicycles, her swimming pool and fun places to go. Grandmother had children from the neighborhood to come and play. She even enrolled Elizabeth in dance camp. Most importantly, Grandmother expressed, through her words and actions that she loved Elizabeth unconditionally, and that always made Liz very happy!"

Thanks to everyone who stops by and leaves a message!

  4. Hi Patty,
You've managed to create another beautiful layout. I love how you added the extra layer of paper over the background one, and left an opening to reveal the sweet photo and the pretty details around it. I also love the fussy cut flowers hanging from the ribbon, and the letter tucked into the flowers up in the corner. You're right about the cheese cloth; it's a great way to add softness and texture to the background.

Have you ever thought of making a YouTube tutorial? I would love to see your scrapbooking process, especially how you go about creating all of that textured background. ♥♥♥

    1. Hi Jacynthe,

You always leave the most thoughtful comments, and I appreciate every one of them!

I have actually made two videos....it is really more like one and a half. Am planning to make more, but what a learning curve!

Here's the link to the first (imperfect) one I made:
