Serenity

Hello and Happy May to all my blog friends! Although May is almost as busy for us as November and December are, I have taken a little time to relax with some lovely supplies and a beautiful photo taken during our Hawaiian trip a couple of years ago.

Over at Color Stories Inspiration we have had a beautiful color scheme that is perfect for my photo.

Here is how I solved Case File 230:

Scheme: All five colors used
Evidence: Water Color, flowers/plants, metal,
      animals/birds
Testimony: I chose a prompt from Carry On
Tuesday. The Prompt reads, "Don't Speak,
words will only steal the moment."

For the background, I stamped, heat embossed, tore paper, added texture using a stencil and modeling paste, and did a little paint splattering.

Here, you can see a little bit of the embossing I did to draw interest to certain areas. The embossing powder is a lovely blue and the stamp is delicate and doesn't take away from the shades of lavender for this layout.

My journaling reads, "Don't speak; words will only steal the moment. Only stand and take it all in.....the delicate, fresh scent of the lavender, in the air; the beauty of nature we can so breathlessly believe with our own eyes. The sound of the wind as it gently and carefully caresses the lavender. The touch of these magnificent plants, seemingly from heaven as we walk each path through the magical field. It was a gift from God as we could barely believe our senses that day in Hawaii. "

Thanks to all who visit and leave a remark!

  2. Stunning setting!!!! I love visiting lavender fields. I remember our visits to lavender farms and the sound of all the bees buzzing, as well as the blossoms swaying in the breeze. Lovely :)

    1. Thanks, Shawn! There were no bees that day, thank goodness, since hubby is allergic to beestings...so glad!
