Fortieth Anniversary

No, I'm really not this old! Well, maybe I am. When we weren't partying this week, I was creating this layout to remember the occasion. You'll have to scroll all the way down to read the journaling.



This is my entry for CSI Case File 124. CSI has put the fun back into scrapbooking for me. I needed something to raise the bar, and every week the challenge is new and exciting.

Lately, I have been getting serious about embossing.  My latest "go to" stamping technique utilizes Frantage Encrusted Jewels by Stampendous. Isn't it gorgeous? The chipboard numbers are by Tim Holtz. First, I inked the letters with an Adirondack stamp pad by Ranger and let it dry. Then, using Perfect Medium, also by Ranger, I inked the area I wanted to apply the embossing. Next, I sprinkled a few mica chips over the same area before adding the embossing powder. This has to be heated from below the area to be embossed. Once the products begin melting a marvelous transformation takes place.

I've had this stamp, by Deep Red, for a while and planned to use it for a special occasion.....either Valentine's Day or an anniversary. It is called, "My Heart, My Soul". Other stamps that I used are by Kaiser Craft,  Crafty Secrets and Technique Tuesday.

The journaling is done on a tag and tucked behind the picture.



This tag is made like paper dolls. I just traced an existing tag, made creases and cut it out. After stamping the heart design, I stamped the same design on a sticky note and cut it out. I placed it over the heart on the tag and sprayed the area with Prima's brand new Color Bloom. I pulled the sticky heart off and let it dry before inking, coloring, stickling and journaling.
